COLUMBUS, Ohio – Albion College hit .241 – its second-best hitting percentage in a match this season – to earn a 25-14, 25-23, 25-14 victory over Capital University in a non-league volleyball match.

Albion was especially effective in the third set as it collected 15 kills against two errors in 29 attacks.

Lauren Outwater finished with 10 kills in 28 attacks. Kelsey Gustafson and Stephanie Thurner added eight kills apiece.

Setter Ami Milligan had a nice all-around match. In addition to dishing out 28 assists, she collected 10 digs, a solo block and a block assist.

Outwater, Rachel Zawodny, Taylor Rosenthal and Ami Milligan all had long service runs as Albion pulled away in the first set.

Outwater served up eight points as Albion surged to a 9-1 lead in the third set.

Albion, 11-7 overall, returns to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association action at Adrian College Tuesday night.
