Box Score ALBION, Mich. – Albion College defeated Trine University in four sets (17-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-13) Tuesday night to match its longest winning streak of the season.
Taylor Rosenthal, Marie Pregenzer and Kelsey Gustafson all terminated points as Albion ripped off a 4-0 run to seize a 12-6 lead in the first set.
Shannon Scott produced a kill, a block and an assist as Trine scored five in a row to whittle the Albion lead to 15-13. Scott's kill pulled Trine into a tie at 16 and Rhylee Beshears served up an ace on the next point. Five Albion errors boosted Trine to a 23-17 lead late in the set.
Monica Shuk served aces on consecutive points as Albion gained a 22-20 lead in the second set.
Rosenthal terminated consecutive points as part of a five-point run that sent Albion to an 18-13 lead in the third set.
Albion used a pair of four-point runs to build an 11-7 lead in the fourth.
Pregenzer knocked down a career-high 18 kills while hitting .368. Rosenthal and Gustafson added 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Setter Ami Milligan achieved her 12th double-double of the season with 46 assists and 13 digs.
Shuk, the sophomore libero, racked up 21 digs to move into fourth place on Albion's all-time list with 1,129.
Albion, 17-10 overall and 6-8 against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rivals, completes the season with a Friday match at Saint Mary's College and a Saturday home match against Adrian College.
