Box Score ALBION, Mich. – David DiRado scored with 53 seconds left in regulation and Dominic Hamper produced the game-winner 1:49 into overtime as Albion College gained its first men's lacrosse victory of the season by taking down previously unbeaten Aurora, 14-13, at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium.
Albion led 11-7 midway through the third quarter as Harrison Palmer scored his second goal of the contest.
Trevor McNamara and Jason Koziol scored late in the third quarter and JK Torres scored a minute into the fourth quarter as Aurora cut the margin to 11-10.
Albion boosted the margin to 12-10 on DiRado's first goal of the fourth quarter with 9:54 left in regulation.
Aurora struck for three goals in 3 ½ minutes as McNamara, Matt Sammarco and Nick Glaser staked the Spartans to a 13-12 lead with 2:23 to play.
Brandon Tata got the ball back for Albion when he stopped a shot by Aurora's Bailey Smith with a minute left. Albion quickly got the clear which led to DiRado's equalizer.
Sammarco scored twice and Sam Hiss tacked on the third goal as Aurora led, 5-2, at the end of the first quarter.
Albion responded as Hamper scored twice and Brandon Lebioda produced a goal and an assist as the Britons led 8-6 at halftime.
Cameron Braun and Hamper led the Briton attack with three goals apiece. Kyle DeCamp, DiRado and Palmer added two goals each. Tata collected four saves.
Albion will play another non-league contest at home Wednesday night when John Carroll University visits for a 7 o'clock face-off.
