HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Albion College Head Coach Tim Dunford said his team played consistently in doubles and singles as the Britons scored a 6-3 victory over Arcadia University in spring break men's tennis action.
Zach McKenzie clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.
"Zach played extremely well," Dunford said. "He got a lead early and never took his foot off the gas. He is incredibly tough to beat when he plays this way."
Ross Kynast (No. 1) and Peper Pappas (No. 2) also won their matches in straight sets. Robert Joerg pulled out a tiebreaker to win the No. 5 match.
Josh McGarry and Pappas pulled out the No. 2 doubles match, 9-7, to help Albion gain a 2-1 lead. Kynast and McKenzie won the No. 1 doubles match.
Albion's next match is Friday against Berry.
