ALBION, Mich. – Ross Kynast provided the points in Albion College's 7-2 loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Hope College in men's tennis.
Teamed with Zach McKenzie, Kynast was an 8-2 winner over Michael Kiley and Andrew Klein at No. 1 doubles. Kynast was a 6-4, 6-2 winner over Kiley in singles.
Kynast improved to 2-3 in singles matches against MIAA rivals.
Robert Joerg and Josh McGarry, Albion's No. 2 doubles team, won consecutive games to close within 6-5 against Hope's tandem of Christian Rhoades and Michael VanderStoep. The Flying Dutchmen hang on for the 8-6 victory.
Hope won the other five singles matches in straight sets.
Albion has another home match Friday as the Britons take on MIAA rival Trine University.
