ALBION, Mich. – It was fitting that Ross Kynast delivered the clinching win as the Albion College men's tennis team celebrated senior day by defeating Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Trine University, 6-3, Friday afternoon.
Kynast, a senior from Highland, Mich., earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Judson Quinn at No. 1 singles. Earlier, Kynast and Zach McKenzie produced an 8-5 victory over Victor Flynn and Quinn at No. 1 doubles.
Albion led, 2-1, after doubles as Nick Kinachtchouk and Peter Pappas pulled out a tiebreaker to win the No. 3 flight.
Josh McGarry (No. 3), McKenzie (No. 4) and Kinachtchouk (No. 6) also won their singles matches.
Albion completes the season with an April 27 match at Alma.
