ANGOLA, Ind. – Madison Bowen produced a career-best 79 to lead Albion College to fourth place in the Trine University Kickoff Classic at the Zollner Golf Course.
"Madison has been working really hard on her golf swing and it really came together," Head Coach Jordan McArleton said. "She's shot a few 81-85 scores but for her to break 80 was a big accomplishment. She was able to finish the round and not let the score get in her head because she chose not to keep track as she went along and just take it one hole at a time."
Bowen's round included a birdie and scores of par on 10 holes.
Megan Moco (89), Madison Kroetsch (90), and Kiley Flynn (91) also contributed to Albion's team score. The Britons finished behind Cleary University (336), Trine (338) and Indiana Wesleyan University (342) in the team standings.
Albion's next competition is the Kyle Campbell Invitational at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall Sept. 9-10.
