HOLLAND, Mich. – Lauren Outwater collected 11 kills and 10 digs in the Albion College volleyball team's 25-12, 25-19, 25-23 loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Hope College Wednesday night.

Hope committed two attack errors and a service error as Albion built a 12-9 lead in the third set. The score was tied five times down the stretch, including at 22 when Outwater terminated the point. Hope won consecutive points to move to match point, but Outwater kept Albion alive with a kill to make the score 24-23. Vanessa Reynhout terminated the final point to secure the match for the Flying Dutch.

Kelsey Gustafson and Jessica Konieczny chipped in with six kills apiece for Albion. Setter Ami Milligan dished out 25 assists and Angela Adams led the defense with 15 digs.

Katie Rietberg led Hope with 12 kills and Haley Muller added nine kills and seven block assists.

Albion will travel to Ohio for Friday and Saturday competition in the Kenyon College Invitational.
