Box Score 2 ANDERSON, Ind. – Stephanie Thurner produced 24 kills and four blocks and Taylor Rosenthal knocked down 20 kills and five blocks as Albion College opened the season with a pair of victories in a tournament at Anderson University.
Albion defeated the College of Mount Saint Joseph in five sets (25-20, 20-25, 23-25, 27-25, 15-13) and Manchester University in four (25-18, 17-25, 25-21, 25-19).
Albion rallied for the victory over Mount Saint Joseph by limiting its hitting errors to three each in the fourth and fifth sets. Thurner finished with a .333 hitting percentage with 17 kills. Ami Milligan dished out 40 assists and Monica Shuk collected 31 digs.
Albion hit .319 as a team in gaining the victory over Manchester. The Britons featured a balanced offense, getting eight kills from Rosenthal, seven from Thurner and six from Kayla O'Malley.
Albion has Saturday matches against Franklin College and tournament host Anderson University.
