RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Emily Bernas, Maija Gillum and Evelyn Wischmeyer scored in double figures to power Albion College to a 63-48 victory over Dominican University in non-league women's basketball action Tuesday night.

Albion surrendered the first basket of the game, but it led for good once Paige Reusch knocked down a 3-point basket to make the score 5-2 less than three minutes into the contest.

The teams endured a long scoring drought in the first quarter – neither team scored for five minutes – until Tierra Orban finished a layup.

Scoring got easier for the Britons late in the quarter as Bernas scored twice and Reusch added another 3-point basket.

Albion led, 14-6, at the end of the first quarter.

The Britons extended the lead to double digits on Gillum's free throws early in the second quarter.

Albion (3-0 overall) returns home for a 3 p.m. Sunday game against Lourdes University.
