Jessica Imel and Jordan Marmul, first-year riders for the Albion College hunt seat team, excelled in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Region Championship show on Sunday to punch their tickets to the IHSA Zone 6 finals.

Imel, a Loy Norrix High School product, was declared regional champion of the advanced division after she decisively won her section of flat at the meet hosted at home in the Nancy G. Held Equestrian Center.

Marmul's performance in open flat was enough for a reserve regional championship and her own ticket to Zones. She is a product of Glen Lake High School.

Both riders will travel to the University of Findlay (Ohio) on April 8 to compete for entry to the 2017 IHSA National Championships.
