FINDLAY, Ohio -- The Albion College hunt seat equestrian team opened its fall season with an impressive pair of shows, highlighted by a Reserve High Point Team tie on Saturday and another runner-up team finish on Sunday.
On Saturday,
Phoebe Martin and
Anna Huard led the way with top-three finishes in Open Fences, while Huard added another third-place ride in Open Flat.
Victoria Panasuik turned in a fifth-place finish in Intermediate Fences before winning her section of Intermediate Flat, with
Katie Woerner close behind in second.
Maggie Sorrelle and
Anna Harvey each earned blue ribbons in Limit Flat and Novice, respectively, while
Aine Carey,
Lucia Scouten, and
Isabelle Adkins all placed among the top six in their classes.
The Britons carried that momentum into Sunday's show, where Huard earned a win in Open Flat and Martin placed fourth over fences and third on the flat. Carey and Scouten both picked up class wins, while Panasuik added a runner-up ride in Intermediate Fences.
Albion once again finished second as a team with 34 points.
Capping off a successful weekend,
Beatrice Eng-McDonald pointed out of the Novice Division to move into Limit and qualify for IHSA Regionals in the spring.
