ALBION, Mich. -- The Albion College western equestrian team turned in another dominant performance on Sunday, securing High Point Team honors against Grand Valley State University and Ferris State University Grand Valley State and Ferris State University in both the morning and afternoon shows. Along the way, the Brits added three more regional qualifiers and continued to hold their lead atop the region.
Albion opened the day in strong fashion, riding to High Point Team honors behind a series of top-three finishes across the board.
In Rookie Horsemanship Section A,
Jennah Skiba and
Miranda Mott delivered a 1–2 punch to lead the division, while
Aubrey Martin added a win in Section B and
Paige Tschirhart earned second in Section C.
Rose Stanton also captured first place in Rookie Pre Horsemanship.
Level I Horsemanship brought more success as
Avery Vick took second in Section A and
Alyssa McPherson won Section B.
Bryn Osborne placed third in Section C, contributing valuable points for the team.
In the upper levels, Ella Farwell won Level II Horsemanship Section B and later added a runner-up finish in Level II Ranch Riding.
Riley Long placed fifth in Level II Section A, while
Lily Jurvelin earned second in Beginner Horsemanship.
Madison Weedon picked up fourth in Open Horsemanship, and
Anna Divis rode to third in Open Reining.
Two Brits punched their tickets to regionals during the morning show, with Osborne and Tschirhart qualifying in their respective divisions.
Albion kept its momentum rolling in the afternoon, once again with another High Point Team performance. Senior standout Divis highlighted the session as Reserve High Point Rider and secured her qualification to regionals in Open Reining with a first-place ride. Weedon added a sixth-place finish in the event.
The rookie division continued to shine, with
Madison Verkest (2nd) and Mott (4th) placing in Section A,
Dixie McKibbin winning Section B, and Skiba and
Lydia VanTichelt going 2–3 in Section C.
Albion swept all three Level I sections for the afternoon: Anna Jones (Section A), Vick (Section B), and McPherson (Section C) each grabbed first place to cap a dominant showing.
In Open Horsemanship, Weedon and Divis finished third and fourth, respectively, while
Stellamia Aerts and Long earned sixth-place rides in their Level II sections. Jurvelin and Chelsea Ramdhan added third- and fifth-place finishes in Beginner Horsemanship.

With another consistent day across all divisions, Albion closed the fall portion of its western season still in first place in the region. The Brits return to action in the new year, when they travel to Michigan State University on Sunday, January 25.
