Men's Tennis Loses Close Match Against Trine

ALBION, Mich. – Albion College came up short in a pair of singles matches that went to three sets and that was the difference in a 6-3 loss to Trine University in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's tennis match.

All three doubles matches were decided in tiebreakers and Albion won two of the contests. Nick Kinachtchouk and Zach McKenzie won the No. 1 flight and Robert Joerg and Josh McGarry won the No. 2 match.

McKenzie scored Albion's singles point, winning the No. 1 flight over Spenser Gilbert in straight sets (6-4, 6-2).

McGarry split the first two sets with Judson Quinn in the No. 2 flight. Quinn pulled out a dramatic contest 7-6 (12-10), 6-7 (5-7), 6-3.

Toma Shngoo and Tyler Davis split the first two sets in the No. 5 flight. Davis won the match 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.

Albion (3-10 overall and 0-2 against MIAA rivals) travels to Olivet College for a 1 o'clock match on Saturday.
