Box Score ALBION, Mich. – Parker Brown produced his first goal at the collegiate level, but Albion College will rue its missed opportunities in a 2-1 overtime loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Hope College at the Davis Athletic Complex.
Albion was awarded a penalty kick after being fouled on a corner kick in the seventh minute. Christian Hurtado hit the cross bar on the penalty kick, but the Britons gained a second opportunity at a corner kick. Aaron Smit had his shot stopped by Hope goalkeeper Blair McCormick, and Albion would only get one more shot the rest of the half.
Brown scored his goal in the 74th minute.
David White scored both Hope goals. He finished off a corner kick in the 78th minute and produced the game winner in the 92nd minute.
Both teams were credited with 10 shots, though Hope had the edge in shots on goal, 5-3.
Albion (4-2-1 overall and 1-2 against MIAA rivals) hits the road for its next two league contests, starting with a 7 p.m. kickoff at Adrian College Saturday night.
