HOLLAND, Mich. – Albion College served up the start of the tennis season with an invitational hosted by Hope College.

First-year student-athletes Carter Moore and Patrick Smoker emerged victorious in two of the four doubles matches they played. They defeated teams from Cornerstone both by 8-6 scores.

Robert Joerg and Israel Trevino won one of the three doubles matches they played.

In singles action, Josh McGarry may have served the victory of the tournament for the Britons when he edged a rival from Hope College in a tiebreaker (3-6, 6-4, 10-6).

Nick Kinachtchouk and Smoker also won one of the three singles matches they played.
