McGarry, Shngoo score points in men's tennis setback

ALBION, Mich. – Albion College was not able to keep the momentum it generated during the doubles matches as it took a 5-4 loss to Greenville University in men's tennis action inside the Ungrodt Tennis Center on Saturday.

In the No. 1 doubles match, Josh McGarry and Nick Kinachtchouk broke the Greenville team to go up 5-3. The Britons added to the momentum by holding McGarry's serve and they went on to win, 8-3.

Albion ended the No. 2 doubles match with a flurry, as Toma Shngoo and Israel Trevino closed out an 8-5 victory.

McGarry extended the Albion lead to 3-1 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles.

Shngoo secured Albion's other point, winning the No. 5 singles match 6-2, 6-1.

Albion will hit the road next Saturday for a match against Holy Cross College.
