Box Score Albion, Mich. - It was all defense for the Britons as they cruise to an 89-41 victory over Michigan Collegiate Athletic Association opponent St. Mary's. Complementary to a tremendous defensive performance was 20 points by Evelyn Wischmeyer and Rain Hinton. An early 12-2 run that was sparked by a Wischmeyer three-pointer was when they first pulled away. The Britons led by as many as 48 while holding St. Mary's to 24.1% from the field.
It was a complete team effort for Albion tonight as they never let up on the gas pedal. Rebecca Ross contributed a strong 14 points coming off the bench for the Britons. "She (Ross) is one of the toughest players I have ever coached. She carries herself well, wants to compete, and hates losing. We have thrown her in at point guard, which is not her true position, but she has done a great job," said Head Coach Doreen Carden.
Cerica Finjap had a breakout performance as she recorded a career-high in points and rebounds. Finjap finished with ten rebounds and six points in 11 minutes for the Britons.
Amanda Larson continues to dominate on the boards by recording eight rebounds after recording 10 in their previous contest. Larson added eight points.
After forcing 26 St. Mary's turnovers, the Britons were able to convert that into 30 of their 89 points. 19 offensive rebounds and 48 points in the paint proved to be the difference for the Britons as they were able to hold St. Mary's to a total of 14 points in the paint.
