Box Score Holland, Mich. - Albion gets held to 29% from the field in a 75-50 loss against Trine in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association tournament semi-final. Trine went on an early 9-2 run to start the game and never slowed down.
Rain Hinton led the Britons on the boards, and it points. Hinton had 20 points and eight rebounds Albion while Evelyn Wischmeyer finished with seven boards. Rebecca Ross was the second of two that scored in double-figures with ten points.
Trine held Albion to seven points in both the first and second quarter, which led to a 41-14 lead at the half. Katy Steers led the charge with 20 points while teammate Kayla Wildman was right behind with 19.
On the defensive end, Amanda Larson and Rain Hinton both had three steals, which contributed to a total of 18 forced turnovers.
The Britons finish the season 21-6, which is their best finish since the 2007-2008 season when they went 22-5.
Despite graduating only two seniors, the Britons will be losing an important and impactful class. Evelyn Wischmeyer and Emily Bernas both had significant contributions over their four years, which included each reaching 1,000 career points this season. Both seniors have placed onto the career scoring leaders list. Emily Bernas finished her career with 1,124 points (6th all-time) while Evelyn Wischmeyer finished with 1,018 (10th) and also stands at 10th on the career rebounding leaders with 479.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
