ALBION, Mich. -- On Friday afternoon, the Albion College men's tennis team won their second straight match, defeating Olivet College
The Britons swept all three doubles matches on the afternoon. At first doubles, Daniel McGarry and Michael Polizzi defeated their opponents, 8-4. With an 8-3 victory, Brett Gurzell and Drake Malcolm won at second doubles. Finally, the Britons got an 8-0 win at third doubles from Matthew Czarnecki and Cecil Burkhart.
Gurzell won his match at first singles, 6-1, 6-3.
At second doubles, McGarry picked up a 7-5, 6-2 win.
Polizzi -- the reigning MIAA Tennis Athlete of the Week -- won his match at third singles, 6-0, 6-3.
Malcolm took his match at fourth singles, 6-2, 6-2.
Smoker took his match at fifth singles, 6-0, 6-1.
With scores of 6-0, 6-0, Czarnecki won sixth singles.
The Britons will be back in action on Sunday, March 21 when they host Trine for a 1 p.m. match.
