ALBION -- The Albion College men's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 win on Saturday afternoon over Olivet College.

At first doubles, Danny McGarry and Michael Polizzi picked up an 8-4 win. The Britons also picked up an 8-2 win at second doubles from Brett Gurzell and Drake Malcolm. Olivet forfeited third doubles, giving Albion a 3-0 advantage after doubles.

In first singles, Gurzell defeated his opponent with scores of 6-1, 6-0. Polizzi won at third singles (6-0, 6-0) and Malcolm also won 6-0, 6-0 at fourth singles.

Patrick Smoker won at fifth singles 6-0, 6-0. Olivet did not compete at sixth singles.

The Britons will be back on the courts Wednesday when they host Trine for a 4 p.m. match.
