ANDERSON, Ind. -- After a first set win, the Albion College volleyball team dropped the next three, falling in their season opener 3-1 to Anderson University. The Britons struggled offensively, swinging at just a .162 clip for the match.
Senior middle
Chloe Webber led the Brits with 16 kills, attacking at a .387 mark. Setters
Mariah Brenz (18 assists) and
Grace VanDorn (16 assists) dished up the offense for Albion.
Defensively,
Kameron Haley led the way with 16 digs while sophomore
Kaylynne Nicholson added nine.
Albion committed nine service errors in the match. In sets two and three, the Britons committed a combined 15 attack errors, helping Anderson secure the win.
On Friday, the Brits will travel to Cleveland to participate in the Case Western Reserve Invitational. At 5:30 p.m., Albion will square off against Earlham followed by the host Spartans at 7:30 p.m.
