FULL GAME NOTES
REVIEWING WEEK TWO
With all seven MIAA teams in action on Saturday, the conference posted a 3-4 record with Albion, Alma and Olivet all coming away with victories. Both Adrian, Hope and Trine all suffered tough losses by one possession.
LOOKING AT WEEK THREE
Once again, all seven MIAA teams are slated to play -- all at their home fields. All but one will host an HCAC opponent, while Adrian will host Greenville out of the UMAC for their Homecoming game.
LEADERBOARD CHECK
Just two games into the season and a handful of Brits sit atop the statistical leaders in the conference.
Jack Bush leads the league in passing touchdowns (6) while
Justin Thomas leads in receiving touchdowns (4).
Hunter Williams currently leads in yards per punt (42.67) while leading in punts inside the 20 yard line (3).
REWRITING THE RECORD BOOKS
A week after rushing for 105 yards, junior
Phillip Jones-Price recorded a new career-high last weekend with a 127 yard day against Defiance. With a 98-yard touchdown run, it set a new school and conference record.
ALL WE DO IS WIN
Dating back to the 2019 season, the Britons have won 10 straight contests. After closing out the 2019 campaign on a 5-0 run, Albion was a perfect 3-0 in the condensed spring season. Already out to a 2-0 start in 2021, the Brits hope to continue their winning trend in the home opener.
NONCONFERENCE PERFECTION?
Under the Beurer regime, the Britons have achieved a perfect 5-0 record thus far in nonconference action. Albion looks to continue the trend, as their last nonconference loss came on Sep. 9, 2017 against UW-Stevens Point.
HOME SWEET HOME!
Saturday marks 687 days since the Britons have played their last home contest, with the exception of April's matchup with Adrian in the spring. Albion hopes to have a more "normal" looking home game, with no attendance restrictions, the band back on the field and tailgating allowed.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE PANTHERS
There actually isn't a last time against the Panthers. In this history of both of these teams, it is believed the Panthers and the Brits have never crossed paths.
