Tough opener for baseball

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – It was a rocky start to the 2022 season, as the Albion College baseball team dropped a 20-1 decision to Franklin College. The Albion defense committed three errors in the loss.
 
The Grizzlies scored in each of the first six innings. Albion's lone run would not come until the top of the eighth. 
 
Austyn Stephens walked to lead off the frame and moved to second when Patrick Merolla hit a single up the middle. With two on and one out, junior Zac Gray singled to left, plating Stephens for the lone Briton run of the afternoon.
 
Albion's hitters struck out 18 times in the contest. 
 
On Sunday, the Britons will play a doubleheader against the Grizzlies. Game one is slated to start at noon.
