Four go 3-0 at MIAA Duals

ANGOLA, Ind. – In the MIAA Duals, the Albion College men's wrestling team went 1-2 on the day, earning a win over Alma College. Freshmen Ben Kamali, Max Honiss, Owen McDaniel and Bode Brown all went 3-0 for the Britons.

In a tough loss to Trine, Albion found themselves behind 24-12 early. Kamali started the day with a pin at 125 (1:37). At 149, Honiss earned a 6-4 victory. The Brits then rattled off four straight wins – beginning with a Chris Mills 7-1 win at 174. McDaniel and Brown each earned major decision victories, but the Britons came up just short. Owen Miller closed out the match with a 4-1 win at 285.

The Britons went up 6-0 against Olivet with a forfeit, and later got on the board again with a pin by Honiss at 2:18. McDaniel earned another victory, this one a pin in 4:49. Brown continued his successful day with a 3-0 win at 197.

Kamali crushed to a 22-7 tech fall victory at 133 to start the Alma contest. Honiss then picked up his second pin of the day at 149, pinning his opponent in 2:57. McDaniel won via forfeit before Brown grinded out a 4-2 victory.

Albion will return to the mats on Feb. 12 at the Mid-States Invitational, hosted by Ohio Northern University.
