Tough day against Trine for tennis

The Albion College men's tennis team had a tough day against Trine University, falling 1-8.
The lone victory came from Drake Malcolm, who won his singles match in two sets (6-1, 6-3).
Malcolm and his doubles partner, Brett Gurzell, kept their match close, eventually losing 4-8. Danny McGarry and Patrick Smoker couldn't get in the zone, losing 1-8. Neither could Cecil Burkhart and Michael Polizzi, who were defeated 2-8.

The loss caused the team to fall to a 7-6 record and 1-3 in the MIAA. The men will face the Calvin Knights in a home match on Tuesday, April 12th.

The Albion College women's tennis team faced a tough challenge in Trine University on Saturday, resulting in a 1-8 loss.

The sole win came from Saige Jost and Josie Dunn in their doubles, which they won in a close match 8-7 (7-3).

Breh Ruger and Katie Valade kept their individual singles matches close, losing 6-3, 6-1 and 6-3 and 6-0, respectively.

The team now falls to 2-10 for the season and 1-3 in the MIAA. They next face Calvin at their home courts on Wednesday, April 13th.
