Men's tennis has bight spots in setback at Kzoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Squaring off one of the nation's toughest opponents, the Albion College men's tennis team had bright spots in a 7-2 loss to Kalamazoo College. This is the first time since 2014 the Brits have taken a set from the Hornets, and the first since 2007 they claimed multiple matches.

Michael Polizzi and Cecil Burkhart narrowly came up short at third doubles, falling in a tiebreaker 8-7 (7-2).

In singles action, Burkhart went on to win his match at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-4. Following it up at sixth singles was a 6-3, 6-4 win by Patrick Smoker.

On Sunday, the Britons will wrap up the 2022 season with a home match against Alma. Prior to the match, Albion will honor its four seniors – Burkhart, Patrick Smoker, Stephen Smoker and Danny McGarry. The match will begin at 11 a.m.
