Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's soccer handles Manchester

The Britons maintained control of the entire match, earning a win on opening day.

MANCHESTER, Ind. — Two goals from senior Rayna Edwards vaulted the Albion College women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Manchester University. This is the seventh season-opening win in nine seasons under the direction of Eric Scott

It didn't take long for the Brits to record their first goal of 2022, as Edwards buried a shot from Quinn Natschke just 3:19 into the game.

Later in the period, Albion was awarded a penalty kick. Allowing their senior to step up and take the shot, Edwards doubled the lead for the visitors with the goal.

In the second half, the Britons got an insurance goal off a rifled shot by Anna Said. The sophomore netted her first collegiate goal — an unassisted strike — in the 72nd minute.

After recording seven shutouts a season ago, senior goalkeeper Romee Natschke collected her first of 2022.

On Sunday, Albion will play on its home pitch. The Brits face off against Millikin University for a 12 p.m. match.
