Men's golf has best finish at Lou Collins since 2015

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Albion College men's golf team finished the best since 2015 in
the Lou Collins Memorial, wrapping up play Saturday. Placing ninth, the Britons shot a two-day total of 628.

Leading the way once again was freshman Ryan Knitter, shooting another 76. Right behind him was Brendan Iatrow, who scored a 79 on Saturday. Blake Wagner (81) and Holden Kile (82) were one stroke apart, while Ryan Bougie finished the afternoon with an 83.

The B team took 12th, with a two day total of 669. Led by freshman Joey Maniaci's 79 on Saturday, Zach Kapuga was the next on that team with an 82. Both Vaugh Rogers and Justin Cousins shot an 85 – five stroke improvements from Friday. With a 91, Dom Orlando rounded out the team.

The Britons are back on the links Sep. 15-16 at the Irish Hills Invitational, hosted by Adrian College.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The youth of the Albion College men's golf team has carried them through day one of the Lou Collins Memorial Tournament. With two teams competing, Albion's "A" team sits in eighth, while the "B" squad is in 14th.

Carding a 310 on the afternoon, the "A" team edged out MIAA-foe Calvin University by one stroke. Freshman Ryan Knitter led the way with a team-low 76. A trio of Britons – Blake Wagner, Brendan Iatrow and Ryan Bougie – shot a 78 on the day. Making up the final leg of the "A" team was Holden Kile, shooting an 89.

On the second Albion team, Zachary Kapuga led the way with an 80. Two strokes behind him was sophomore Dom Orlando, ending his day with an 82. Joey Maniaci carded an 86, while Justin Cousins and Vaughn Rogers both recorded a 90.

The Brits wrap up the two-day tournament on Saturday. The shotgun start is slated for 9 a.m.
