Hunt seat ties for first at home show

ALBION – Head hunt seat coach Chris Mitchell earned his first win at Albion, as the Albion College hunt seat equestrian team was the co-champions of a home show on Saturday. The Britons tied with the University of Findlay, scoring 36 points each.

Sophomore Phoebe Martin was the Reserve High Point Rider of the day, winning her class in Open Fences. She also finished third in Open Flat.

In Intermediate Fences, Emily Martinez won the event before taking third place in Intermediate Flat. The win was her first in the IHSA.

Simone Taylor excelled in her first collegiate show, taking fifth in Limit Fences and placing second in Limit Flat.

Sophomore Katie Woerner won her Limit Flat class and placed sixth in her Limit Fences class.

In Novice, Albion had two riders place – Isabelle Adkins was fifth Novice while Anna Boiser also took fifth in her class

Katelyn Proshek placed second in her first IHSA Hunt Seat show, while Melany Duenas placed fourth in her first show ever. Both competed in Introductory.

Next weekend, the hunt seat team will be back in action at the University of Findlay.
