Hunt seat finishes third both days at Findlay

FINDLAY, Ohio – Over the weekend, the Albion College Hunt Seat Equestrian team competed at the University of Findlay, placing third in both shows.

Starting off the Saturday show, sophomore Phoebe Martin placed fourth in Open Over Fences, before going on to take third place in Open Flat.

Fellow sophomore Katie Woerner competed in Limit Fences, taking third. She also finished fourth in Limit Flat.

In Limit Fences, freshman Simone Taylor had a terrific showing, placing second in the event.

Junior Katelyn Proshek claimed the lone Briton win on Saturday, winning her Introductory class. Melaney Duenas Lopez was sixth in the same event.

Lucia Scouten placed second in her novice class, while Amelia Kish – in her first IHSA show – placed 5th.

Emily Brooks wrapped up the afternoon by taking sixth in her first Pre-Novice class.

In Sunday's show, Martin picked up right where she left off, taking fourth in Open Fences and sixth in Open Flat. Woerner placed yet again for the Britons, finishing fifth in Limit Fences.

Proshek continued her winning ways with another win in the Introductory class.

Kish earned a second place finish in the Novice, while Isabelle Adkins was fourth in her class.

In the Intermediate Flat class, Emily Martinez took home a third place finish.

The day concluded with Brooks winning her Pre-Novice class, as Anna Bosier was third in the same event.

On Dec. 2, the Hunt Seat team returns to the arena at Centenary University.
