Football suffers first setback of 2023

the season, a 14-6 decision at Hope College. In the low-scoring affair, the Brits kept the Flying Dutchmen off the board in the second half, but could not click on offense. 

Luke Lovell was 20 of 39 for 207 yards. Both Kye Bristow and Devin Fridley-Bell caught five passes for 62 yards apiece. Junior receiver Dilon Denison added five catches as well, totaling 60 yards. 

Eddie Hines had a career day with 11 total tackles. Alex Olenik tacked on nine for the visitors. Nick Fannon recorded a pair of sacks in the loss, stretching his MIAA-leading total. 

Both of Albion's scores came off field goals from Logan Grwinski. The sophomore connected on a 26 yarder and a 46 yarder. Freshman Chris Bowman landed three of his five punts inside the Hope 20. 

Albion will head into its bye week before hosting Trine on Oct. 21. The game is set for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
