Men's tennis hangs tough with Spring Arbor

ALBION – In their final non-conference match of the season, the Albion College men's tennis team fell to Spring Arbor University, 8-1. The Britons saw three singles players hang tight with a tough Cougar squad. 

At third doubles, the strong team of Josh Doyle and Jacob Doyle picked up another victory, this one by an 8-3 margin. As a team, the pair is now 10-2 on the season.

Senior Brett Gurzell went down to the wire at first singles, falling in a tight 7-6(5), 5-7, 6-10 match. Also going toe to toe with their opponent was Drake Malcolm. The junior lost his match at third singles, 2-6, 6-1, 9-11.

Albion kicks off conference play on Saturday when they host Trine University. The match will begin after the women's, roughly around 2 p.m.
