Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Conley's 10 points helps MLAX stay perfect in MIAA

ANGOLA, Ind. – For the fifth straight game, the Albion College men's lacrosse team scored 20 or more goals in a 23-15 win over Trine University. Fifth year senior Jace Conley led all scorers with 10 points – an eight goal, two assist evening.

After Trine broke out to a slim lead, a pair of man-up goals by Sam Puzevic helped the Brits claim a 5-3 lead after one. Puzevic finished with four goals and two assists on the night. A final man-up goal from freshman Cal Stearns gave Albion an early lead.

In the second quarter, Albion outscored the hosts, 8-4. Four of Conley's eight goals came in the period, as well as a pair from Stearns. At the half, Albion led the Thunder, 13-7.

Trine cut the deficit to four, but the Britons used a 4-0 run in the third to take a sizable 18-10 lead. In that stretch, Brock Yabs, Puzevic, Ethan Rottell and Timmy Salinas all netted goals for the visitors.

Conley and Stearns each scored twice in the fourth, putting the game out of reach. Stearns scored five goals and dished out one assist for the Brits.

Senior FOGO Eddie Symons was 23 of 38, picking up 19 ground balls in the victory.

As a team, Albion was an efficient 17 of 19 on the clear.

Four goalies earned time in goal for the Brits, with Jack Gogonis making 12 saves.

On Friday, Albion will host Adrian College in the first half of a men's and women's doubleheader. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
