Symons breaks ground ball record at Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio – Taking on No. 16 Denison University, the Albion College men's lacrosse team battled with the Big Red for much of the game, but fell 21-13. The hosts built a 7-2 lead after one, too much for the Brits to overcome. 

After being held to just one goal in the first half, Jace Conley led Albion with seven goals in the game. Senior Sam Puzevic added six points, coming from four goals and two assists. Puzevic also picked up seven ground balls for the Britons. 

With nine ground balls on the day, Eddie Symons broke the single season record, surpassing the previous mark of 206. Symons has been Albion's faceoff man all year, and has already set the single game record for ground balls. 

The Britons drop to 11-4 overall following the non-conference loss. 

Jack Gogonis made 18 saves for Albion. 

On Wednesday, Albion resumes MIAA action with a 7 p.m. game at Kalamazoo.
