With a win Friday, the Britons can outright win the MIAA Regular Season

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In a 27-5 rout of Kalamazoo College, the Albion College men's lacrosse team has clinched at least a share of the MIAA Regular Season title. With a win on Friday, the Britons can clinch the league outright – their fifth as a program.

Fifth year senior Jace Conley added to his lengthy list of accolades, reaching 300 career goals. Conley finished with three goals and one assist.

Ethan Rottell led Albion with eight points – five goals and three assists. 13 different players netted goals in the win for Albion. Captain Sam Puzevic tacked on three goals and three assists.

Adding to his campaign for Defensive Player of the Year, Eddie Symons won 20 of 27 faceoffs, picking up 18 ground balls in the win. With eight saves in 30 minutes of work, Jack Gogonia (11-4) earned the win in goal.

Freshman Cal Stearns got the Britons on the board first before the hosts answered to tie the game. Albion wrapped up the first half on a 12-0 run, including outscoring the Hornets 9-0 in the second.

Fabrizio Raciti broke a 1-1 tie, and right after Symons won the faceoff and found Puzevic to put the Brits up 3-1. The quartet of Symons, Puzevic, Conley and Rottell accounted for the next seven Albion goals before Brendan Mercier added to the scoring. Following Raciti's second of the game, Stearns and Rottell added one more goal each, as the visitors led 13-1 at halftime.

The third quarter opened with goals from Eric Fraeyman, Brock Yabs and Marcus Haynie, putting the game out of reach. Albion built its lead to 24-1 before the Hornets scored their second goal of the night.

Mercier, Vaughn Shewell and Keegan Pastor all scored for Albion in the final period.

The Britons were an efficient 5 of 7 on EMOs, after struggling as of late.

On Friday, Albion concludes the regular season with a 7 p.m. game against Alma. Prior to the game, Albion will honor its six seniors – Puzevic, Symons, Fraeyman, Chad Burton, Jacob Castles and Alex Unterriker.
