TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Over the weekend, the Albion College hunt seat equestrian team kicked off its season at the Preseason Tournament of Champions. As a team, the Britons finished sixth overall, competing against multiple former National Champions.

Leading the way for Albion was Katie Woerner's 10 points, finishing second in both Limit over Fences and Limit Flat.

In Open over Fences and Open Flat, sophomore Phoebe Martin scored for Albion. Martin claimed second in Open over Fences and placed sixth in Open Flat.

Two more sophomores scored points for Albion. Emily Martinez was second in Intermediate over Fences and sixth in Intermediate Flat. In Novice, Lucia Scouten took third, scoring four points.

Katelyn Proshek excelled in her first ever hunt seat competition, finishing fifth in her event.

The hunt seat team returns to the area on Oct. 14 for a home show.
