Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

No. 11 Trine tops MBB

ALBION – It was a tough night for the Albion College men's basketball team, falling 76-54 to No. 11 Trine University. After playing tight with the Thunder for much of the first half, Trine ran away with the contest in the second half. 

Kam Mayes led the way for Albion, scoring 14 points in the loss. The sophomore was an incredibly efficient 8 of 10 from the free throw line and added eight boards for the Brits. 

Off the bench, freshman Kurtis Rhodes netted a career-best 11 points. 

Despite Albion typically dominating the inside game, the Thunder held the edge in points in the paint, 38-24. The Britons struggled from deep, connecting on 16.7 percent from three. Trine was a tick above 30 percent from beyond the arc. 

Albion falls to 7-8 overall, 1-3 in the MIAA.

On Wednesday, Albion hosts Alma for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
