Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's basketball falls to Yeomen

ALBION – In their toughest test of the season, the Albion College men's basketball team came up just short to Oberlin College, 65-60.

Four Briton players finished in double figures, led by BJ Hunter's 13 points and AJ Barden's 11 point, 10 rebound double-double. Off the bench, Michael Umeh scored 12 points as Dwayne Ray added 10.

In a defensive first half, the Yeomen took a 27-22 lead into the locker room. Oberlin led for a majority of the first half, as the Brits crept closer, the visitors continued to find an answer. Every big Albion bucked seemed to be answered with one from Oberlin.

The second half featured plenty of back and forth action and momentum swings. With 7:14 to play, Ray found Barden in transition to vault Albion ahead, but once again free throws from Oberlin pushed them up.

Sophomore Truman King buried a 3-pointer with 3:41 remaining in the contest, giving the hosts a 56-53 advantage. Oberlin responded with a 4-0 run, stealing any momentum from Albion and securing a big road victory.

Albion committed 14 turnovers to Oberlin's eight. The Britons struggled at the foul line, converting just 10 of 18 chances.

On Saturday, Albion heads to Mount Saint Joseph for an 8 p.m. tipoff.
