Men's basketball drops in OT to Oglethorpe

ATLANTA, Ga. – After a thrilling overtime win on Sunday, the Albion College men's basketball team found themselves on the wrong end of an 88-84 overtime loss to Oglethorpe. In the extra period, the Brits were limited to just five points. 

BJ Hunter and Michael Umeh each finished with 17 points for the Britons. Umeh grabbed eight rebounds and Hunter dished out a game-high five assists. Sophomore Dwayne Ray added 14 points, going 4 for 6 from beyond the arc. 

At the half, the Brits held a slim 38-36 lead as an early 11-0 lead was quickly erased by the hosts. 

With the score tied at 77, Hunter hit a floater with 3.8 seconds remaining to push the Britons up by two. Oglethorpe was able to go the length of the court and hit a layup at the horn, forcing the extra period.

Albion will be idle until Jan. 8 when they begin conference play at Calvin University.
