Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's basketball celebrates seniors

ALBION – On Senior Day, the Albion College men's basketball team was hindered by a poor free throw shooting night, falling 71-65 to Hope College. The Britons converted just 10 of 21 free throws.

Prior to the contest, the Brits celebrated their four seniors – Zak Krueger, Marco Lucchesi, AJ Barden and Lamar Lee

Only two Albion players finished in double figures – Kam Mayes and Lucchesi. Mayes scored 12 points as Lucchesi totaled 10 in the loss. Hope finished with nine blocks as the Britons only blocked one shot from the Flying Dutch. Barden collected nine rebounds, while freshman Ethan Woolery had a career-high eight.

Despite going toe to toe with the Dutch for a majority of the contest, Hope cashed in on free throws and hit shots down the stretch. Albion was 3 of 17 from beyond the arc in the loss.

On Tuesday, the Brits will play as the No. 6 seed in the MIAA Tournament, traveling to Hope College. A rematch with the Flying Dutch is on the docket, with the final bracket being announced Sunday.
