Hunt seat wraps up regular season

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – Wrapping up the regular season, the Albion College hunt seat equestrian team had another successful outing with two shows at Lake Erie College.

Sophomore Phoebe Martin started the day off by claiming fourth in Open Flat. Emily Martinez followed it up with a fifth place finish in Open Flat. Sophomore Katie Woerner added a pair of second place finishes, coming in Limit Flat and Limit Fences.

Freshman Simone Taylor was fourth in Limit Fences and took fifth in Limit Flat. In Novice, Lucia Scouten earned a spot in the Regional Championships. The Britons had two more second place finishes – Isabelle Adkins (Novice) and Anna Bosier (Pre-Novice). Wrapping up the show, Melany Duenas-Lopez was second in Introductory while Katelyn Proshel was third and Qualified for the Regional Championships.

In Sunday's show, Martin was third in Open Flat and third in Open Fences, qualifying her for the Regional Championships in Open Fences.

Taylor was sixth in Limit Fences and Third in Limit Flat, as Woerner was sixth in Limit Flat and second in Limit Fences – Qualifying her for the Regional Championships in Limit Fences.

Duenas-Lopez placed third in Introductory before Amelia Kish won her first-ever IHSA class in Novice. Katelyn Proshek was third in her first Pre-Novice Class and wrapping up the show, Isabelle Adkins was fourth in her Novice Class.

Competing in Regionals on Mar. 9 in Martin, Woerner, Scouten and Proshek.
