ADRIAN, Mich. -- Surviving a late scare, the Albion College men's lacrosse team wrapped up the regular season with a 13-9 win over Adrian College. Co-captains
Cal Stearns and
Timmy Salinas combined for seven goals in the win.
The Britons jumped out to a 12-1 lead by halftime, thanks to goals from multiple players. Stearns and Salinas led the way, as the MIAA leader in goals,
Marcus Haynie, scored twice.
Ethan Rottell,
Brendan Mercier and
Fabrizio Raciti all scored in the first half for the Britons as well.
Albion's lone goal of the second half came late from senior
Matt Montgomery. The goal was a huge strike, coming in the final minute to secure the win.
Rottell caused three turnovers, a team-high. Freshman
Caleb Howell tallied 11 saves in net.
The Britons have locked down the No. 2 seed in the MIAA Tournament and will host the No. 3 seed Wednesday. A time and location is TBD.
