Giesige sets strikeout record at Adrian

Adrian, Mich. – Stellar days from Cole Giesige and Logan Farmer were not enough, as the Albion College baseball team was edged out by Adrian College, 4-3. With four strikeouts, Giesige set the new Albion single-season record with 74. 

Farmer was a perfect 4 for 4 from the dish, scoring one of Albion's three runs. 

The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead off a pair of unearned runs before Kris Stojanovski got the Brits on the board. The junior crushed his ninth home run of the year, cutting the Adrian lead to one. 

Albion took a 3-2 lead in the fifth. Farmer led off the frame with a single up the middle and was followed by a home run that stayed just fair off the bat of Matt McGann. 

Adrian regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth, but Albion was never able to push across the tying run. 

Albion hosts Adrian tomorrow for a doubleheader and Senior Day. The games are currently scheduled to begin at 1 and 4 p.m.
