Men's tennis knocks off Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Led by its young roster, the Albion College men's tennis team picked up its first win of the fall slate. The Britons knocked off Manchester University, 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon. 

Albion swept all three doubles matches to earn the team point. At first doubles, Jacob Doyle and Josh Doyle won 6-1 as Brendan Morrison and Alex Beard picked up a 6-0 victory at second doubles. Rounding out doubles play with a 6-0 victory was the duo of Jacob Kubiak and Noah McCollum

Beard – a freshman – improved to a perfect 3-0 mark this fall with a 6-2, 6-4 win at second singles. Josh Doyle handily beat his opponent at third singles by a 6-1, 6–0 score. Sophomore Kubiak won at fifth singles, 6-2, 6-0, as McCollum also remained perfect in singles play with a 6-3, 6-2 win.

On Saturday, the Brits will wrap up their fall schedule with a doubles tournament at home. Albion will welcome both the men's and women's teams of Alma and Olivet, with matches commencing at 9 a.m.
