Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's hoops goes to the wire with No. 3 Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. – Competing hard with the No. 3 nationally ranked Trine Thunder, the Albion College men's basketball team ultimately fell short in a 66-56 road loss. The Britons led by one at the half and hung with the hosts until the final few minutes.

Fifth year senior Marco Lucchesi led Albion, scoring 16 points. Michael Umeh recorded his second career double-double with 11 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

The teams traded blows throughout the first half, as no team could truly maintain momentum. By the end of the first period, the Britons held a slim 28-27 lead against the defending National Champions.

Back and forth throughout the second half, the Brits continued to battle with Trine. Trailing by no more than six points, the Thunder found the dagger with 2:38 on the clock with a 3-pointer to push them ahead by eight.

Albion held the advantage in the paint, outscoring Trine 30-18.

On Wednesday, the Brits head to Alma for a 7:30 p.m. tip.
