OLIVET, Mich. -- The Albion College women's soccer team erupted for a season-high seven goals on Saturday, powering past Olivet College, 7-0, in MIAA action.
The Britons controlled the match from the opening whistle. Albion outshot the Comets 27-4 and held an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Sophomore
Kelsi Green kicked off the goal parade in the 22nd minute.
Abby O'Connell followed quickly with her first of two goals on the day to push the Britons ahead.
Albion poured in four more goals over the final minutes of the first half. O'Connell bagged her second to go along with tallies from
Zoe Moretti,
Brook Zeleny, and
Belle Beman to take a commanding 6-0 lead into the break. In the second half,
Mary Coburn added the final goal of the day to complete the Britons' decisive road win.
O'Connell finished with two goals and an assist, while
Bella Fabrizio recorded a pair of helpers. Albion's defense was equally dominant, limiting Olivet to just three shots on target and register their fifth clean sheet of the season.
