Men's tennis earns first spring win

ALBION – In dominant fashion, the Albion College men's tennis team rolled to a 7-0 win over Manchester University. This marks the men's team's first victory of the spring season.

At first doubles, the twin tandem of Josh Doyle and Jacob Doyle grinded out a 6-4 win. Playing at second doubles, Alex Beard and Brendan Morrison were wonderful in a 6-1 win. Ending the doubles play, Jacob Kubiak and Brandon Blake showed grit with a 7-5 victory for the Brits.

Heading into singles action, Morrison won by a 6-1, 6-1 mark at first singles. Beard picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win at second singles, as Josh Doyle followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win in the next match. Jacob Doyle won by a margin of 6-3, 6-2 at fourth singles, and Kubiak was in control the entire time of a 6-1, 6-0 win. Rounding out the win was a 6-0, 6-0 sweep by freshman Noah McCollum.

Next Saturday, the Britons host Greenville University for a 1 p.m. start.
