Men's wrestling narrowly falls to No. 21 Olivet

OLIVET, Mich. – In a tough fight, the Albion College men's wrestling team narrowly dropped a 26-19 decision to No. 21 Olivet. A pin for the Comets at 165 sealed the win for the home team.

Starting with the 197 bout, the Comets got a pin, but CJ Krum stepped up and evened the score at 285. A second period pin for Krum revived the Britons as the teams went into the 125 matchup 6-6.

Olivet won the next four matchups to take a 20-6 lead with four bouts to go. Sophomore Justin Gorman earned a massive major decision at 157, 11-2, for four crucial Albion points.

Although Olivet had the match wrapped up, Zak Knapp won a 10-7 decision at 174, and Owen McDaniel pinned his opponent at 184 in 2:54.

Next Thursday, the Brits host Trine for Senior Night at 7 p.m.
