ALBION – On opening day, the Albion College women's tennis team grinded en route to a 4-3 victory over Saint Francis (Ind.). The men's team, playing after the women's squad, fell to the Cougars 7-0.

Albion won the point in doubles play, thanks to a win at second doubles by Molly Dunn and Josie Dunn. The sister tandem won 6-2, coupled with a point from a STF default to give the Britons the doubles point.

In singles play, freshman Lynsey Brearley, was down 5-0 in her second set, putting the win in jeopardy for the Britons. She made a big-time comeback, eventually winning 7-5 and taking the match by a 4-6, 7-5, 10-7 margin. Molly Dunn also was big in her match at fifth singles, ultimately clinching for Albion with a 6-4, 6-2 win.

In the men's match, Albion's lone win came from Josh Doyle and Jacob Doyle at first doubles. The Cougars won the other two doubles matches, taking the doubles point and controlling the match.

Both teams will host Manchester next Saturday, with the women to begin at 10 a.m. and the men to follow.
